Dear Members of the Pelican Valley ACC,

With joy, classes began at our OLV Catholic school, and soon Faith Formation starts up as well!

With joy, I share the good news of the visit to Minnesota and Fargo, ND, of the Bishop of Chimbote, Ángel Ernesto, from September 4–14, 2026. On Tuesday, September 8, he met with Bishop Patrick Neary at Saint John’s Abbey. On Wednesday, September 9, Bishop Ángel Ernesto spent time in Pelican Valley, with a lunch at the OLV Fellowship Hall, an afternoon visit to St. Elizabeth, and evening Mass at St. Leonard.

With hope in Jesus, who is the resurrection and the life, I announce the passing of Sister Peggy Byrne on August 30. Her funeral was on Friday, September 11, at the Nativity Parish in Fargo, ND.

Sister Peggy lived as a missionary for 30 years, serving the vulnerable people of Chimbote through education, health care, quality of life for the elderly, evangelizing families, and being the loving face of God.

May the autumn season inspire us to care for our common home. Blessings.

Con alegría, han comenzado las clases en nuestra escuela católica OLV, ¡y pronto dará inicio también la formación en la fe!

Con alegría, comparto la buena noticia de la visita a Minnesota y Fargo (Dakota del Norte) del obispo de Chimbote, Ángel Ernesto, realizada del 4 al 14 de septiembre de 2026. El martes 8 de septiembre, se reunió con el obispo Patrick Neary en la Abadía de Saint John. El miércoles 9 de septiembre, el obispo Ángel Ernesto estuvo en Pelican Valley, donde compartió un almuerzo en el salón parroquial de OLV, visitó por la tarde la parroquia de St. Elizabeth y celebró la misa vespertina en St. Leonard.

Con esperanza en Jesús, que es la resurrección y la vida, anuncio el fallecimiento de la hermana Peggy Byrne, ocurrido el 30 de agosto. Su funeral se celebró el viernes 11 de septiembre en la parroquia Nativity de Fargo, Dakota del Norte.

La hermana Peggy vivió como misionera durante 30 años, sirviendo a las personas vulnerables de Chimbote mediante la educación, la atención sanitaria, la mejora de la calidad de vida de los ancianos y la evangelización de las familias, siendo siempre un rostro amoroso de Dios.

Que la estación del otoño nos inspire a cuidar nuestra casa común. Bendiciones.
