Today we know and understand that children experience liturgy and all the normal events of life with a capacity consistent with their age.
It is easier for young children to participate fully in the Eucharistic Celebration (Mass) if they can understand what they are doing and seeing.
Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLW) is offered most Sundays during the 9:30 am Mass beginning in September thru May. Children are called up front at the beginning of Mass and return to parents before the Liturgy of the Eucharist begins. There is a Registration Fee is $20/family.
The timeless truths of our Catholic Faith are taught at every grade level in Faith First Legacy Edition, the curriculum used in our Elementary Faith Formation Program. Some values of this program are doctrine (beliefs), in-depth Scripture study, seasonal material, a “With My Family” section, “Faith-Filled” people, and a website putting Catholic technology at your family’s fingertips. Classes meet from 3:45 pm - 5:00 pm on Wednesday and began on October 6. There is a registration fee of $50 per student; if a student is attending OLV School, there is a reduced fee of $40 per student for this supplemental religious education.
For students who attend public school, there is bus transportation to OLV Church.
